"I was invited to be a trainer for Listening Inn by Jaskiran in 2021. What struck me immediately, was her passion and goal of creating a network of a million compassionate listeners. This resonated strongly with me, especially during these times—when wellness needed the utmost attention. During my initial conversation with her to understand her training needs, what stood out was the clarity about the kind of training that she wanted for her team of listeners. Jaskiran had already done sessions on listening skills and more relevant techniques for her peer group of listeners, and also had a robust structure in place for feedback and open discussion. The training was tailor-made to the needs of compassionate listeners of Listening Inn and included a vigorous Q&A. The questions asked by the compassionate listeners showed the depth of training that they had received earlier and the culture of openness and learning that was fostered at Listening Inn. On a personal level, I was delighted to have been a part of this training. The eagerness, enthusiasm, motivation and sheer passion reflected in the founder and her team assured me that there was hope for the people who needed an empathic ear. The mission of Listening Inn—to envision a world where everyone was listened to and no one went unheard—was truly being accomplished. I firmly believe that this is an essential service and will go a long way to serve the unmet needs of people, especially during this pandemic. "
